Branding is absolutely essential for the product of any business. It is what separates the said product from the norm and makes it stand out. Consumers aren’t exactly keen on buying plain and boring items off the market, after all!
You need marketing for your product, and it has to be unique, eye-catching, and sure to attract more customers and buyers. So without further ado, here is how to create your very own branding plan or strategy.
1.) Know what you want – You are the owner, the creator of your business. This means the brand, brand name, brand logo, and the like are entirely up to you and your discretion. In order to make the process flow easier and quicker, it is best to get in your head from the beginning this question: What do you want? What do you envision your brand to become? What is the very essence of the design of your business? After you have taken all of these questions into consideration and narrowed down your vision, only then will you be able to proceed to the next step of branding.
2.) Identify your target audience – The second step is to identify your target audience. A target audience is the group of individuals your business is trying to appeal to, or a group of individuals you feel your brand would appeal to. The thing is, depending on the audience; the brand can be more effective, or less effective. For example, if you want to appeal to a younger audience then you might want to adjust your brand accordingly by making the design more minimalist, and your social media websites more trendy. Know your audience, know what they want, and modify your brand accordingly.
3.) Make sure it’s unique – The small business market is so over-saturated that one of the struggles many business owners face is making sure that their product or service is unique, and stands out from the rest of the competition. Another thing is that with a large number of businesses, you might accidentally create a brand similar to that of another competitor- this could lead to unwanted lawsuits and plagiarism accusations. In order to prevent these things from happening, do full and proper research on the images you want to implement to your brand and make sure that it isn’t similar to anybody else’s.
4.) Develop your brand – Now that you’re finished setting up your brand’s image, making sure it’s unique and separate from the rest, and have identified your audience, one of the only things left to do is actually develop it. There are numerous ways you can do this. You can first set up. Your logo, then your website, then your social media sites and posts. Feel free to do this in any order, as long as it is what feels right for you.
5.) Test and Adjust – The last step is to actually test your new brand. Is it getting the wanted attention? Is it doing what you hoped? If so, then great! Keep building atop of it. If not, then there’s always room for adjustments and changes- there’s no need to rush.
